An alluring contemporary romance novella, For The Boys is the third installment in author BL Mute’s Sugar and Spice series, and an incredible testament of letting go of expectations and submitting to your deepest desires. This was my first time reading something from Mute, and it certainly won’t be my last. The flowing narrative and easy voice in which this tale is told had me thoroughly enthralled – I can’t wait to dive into more.
Earlier this year I began falling down the Harley Laroux rabbit hole, quickly consuming several of her books, including The Dare, which left me in desperate need for more. Upon hearing we’d be getting more of Jess, Daddy Manson, Lucas, Jason and Vincent, Losers was definitely my most anticipated read of 2022…and now it has become my top read of the year. Any and all expectations I had were thoroughly blown out of the water, and now I’m champing at the bit for Part 2.
Bait is the tale of Abigail and Leo, two broken souls seeking light in an all-consuming darkness. It’s a beautiful account of the journey of self discovery, along with the hope that a stranger can aid in mending the broken pieces that lie within. I honestly had no idea what I was getting myself into when I began this book, as this is the first that I’ve read by author Jade West, but I can tell you it most definitely won’t be the last. What. A. Story.
Den of Vipers is a visceral tale of healing and acceptance; one of letting go of the ghosts of the past and embracing what the present has to offer. What begins as a recount of a woman being offered to a crime family in exchange for a debt, blooms into a narrative highlighting the growth of a group of damaged souls surviving and thriving.
